Curriculum Statement
Our aim at Stimpson Avenue Primary Academy is to provide a curriculum that:
- is rich and varied.
- promotes enquiry.
- engages and motivates pupils.
- is relevant to all of our learners.
- provides our learners with the skills they will need for the 21st century.
Our curriculum is underpinned by the statutory National Curriculum. We enhance and adapt this with well-planned opportunities that make up the wider school curriculum. We believe that learning should be exciting and engaging. Our curriculum places areas of learning in a meaningful context for children. Where links exist between subjects, lessons are taught using a cross-curricular and thematic approach. Where this is not appropriate, subjects are taught discretely. The practice and application of basic skills learned in the core curriculum is a driver for the entire curriculum.
A well planned curriculum, delivered by committed staff in an ethos of care and support, enables our pupils to be well rounded, empathetic young people who have a desire to learn and respect for all around them.
